The three tiers

What it costs.

There is no Pro tier. A tier that held capability back would be a different product sold under the same name, and nothing here is ever held back — what changes across these three is how many people share one record.

Paid yearly, two months are free. There is no multi-year commitment — a product whose pitch is that you own your data should not need a contract to keep you.

Straight answers

The four questions this page has to answer.

Every one of them is answerable today, and every answer below is a commitment docs/licensing.md already makes.

Is there a free tier or a trial?

No. Commission is licensed from the first command — there is no free tier, no trial, and no version that stops working after a while because it was never meant to keep working. What you pay for is the whole product.

A trial that expires mid-project is worse than no trial, because it fails at the moment you have the most work invested. If you want to see it before you commit, ask — a conversation is more use than a countdown.

What happens when I hit the limits?

There are none to hit. Your licence counts people with access and nothing else: no cap on work, projects or agents, no concurrency limiter, and no prepaid balance that halts work at zero. Add a tenth agent, or a hundredth, and nothing changes about what you owe.

This is the answer worth being sceptical about, so check it against the “what is never sold” list above: an agent cap and a concurrency limiter are both on it.

Can I run it on my own machines?

Today that is the only way to run it: Commission is a binary and a SQLite file on your disk. It needs a licence, which is checked without a network call for a long stretch at a time, so an outage somewhere else never stops an agent mid-task. Your work never leaves the machine.

A supported deployment for a company — air-gapped, with a contract, an SLA and compliance documents — is the Enterprise tier, and it is not open. It is waiting on the distribution and licensing work named on the card above.

Whose data is it?

Yours, and the design makes that structural rather than promised. The record is one SQLite file; export works at every tier, always, and withholding it is on the list of things never sold. Nothing is held back on the way out, and there is no format you cannot read without us.

Commission itself is proprietary and the repository is private. That is about the software, not about your record — the two are deliberately different things.
